C++ course

In the Computational Physics module, it can be useful to know the C++ programming language. This year, other than the years before, a C course will be held by the lecturer himself, Prof. Dr. David Luitz. The course takes place as a two-week block course, consisting of lectures and tutorials, during the lecture-free period before the summer semester.

On the right you can find the corresponding eCampus course.

FAQ - Frequently asked Questions

Yes, the C++ course is an offer from the physics/astronomy Fachschaft to get to know the C++ programming language, which can be used very well in the computer physics module.

It is not necessary to register for the C++ course. Ideally, you should join the eCampus course (see link above) to get the most important information and materials. But apart from that, you can simply go to the first lecture, where the most important things will be mentioned again or can be answered in an emergency.

Lecture
A physics lecturer is usually responsible for the lectures, but the lecture itself can also be given by another person.

Tutorials
The Tutorials are held by tutors. Most of them have already tutored the module in previous years. You can always ask them your questions and problems about C++ and programming, especially in the tutorial.

The C course is a two-week block course. It consists of a lecture and the corresponding exercises.

In the Lecture you will learn the basics of C++ and programming. The focus here is on practical application, but there will also be some theoretical basics.

In the Tutorials, you will then apply what you have learned in the lecture. Exercises are provided, which you then have to solve with the help of C++. The main focus here is on independent work and learning, but the tutors are available all the time to help you with questions and problems.

No. Even if the time period might suggest it at first, there are no lectures or tutorials at the weekend.

In principle, anyone who has passed the module (or an equivalent module) at least one year ago can become a tutor for the C++ course.

Please contact the physics/astronomy student council, e.g. via Mail.
